Hello! First weekend with the kids back at school, and the forecast's looking a bit spotty, so a couple of these are indoor ones with that in mind. Here's what's on.

End of Summer Bash, Theatre Alibi, Sat 5 Sep

Alibi and St Thomas Library are throwing a free end-of-summer bash at Emmanuel Hall on Saturday, 10 till 1, and it's a good send-off for the holidays.

There's a monster treasure hunt (their biggest yet), a Lego table, crafting and colouring, story garden sessions at 10:30 and 11:30, and prize-giving for the Summer Book Quest, with the Alibi cafe doing drinks and snacks.

No booking, just turn up, and it suits all ages, with the storytelling pitched at 2 and up. About five minutes from the centre. On parking: the on-site spaces are Blue Badge only, so use the pay-and-display on Okehampton Street (£2 for two hours).

More Good Stuff

Devon's Harvest Festival, Shillingford Organics, Sat 5 Sep

Shillingford Organics, just south of the city, are hosting Devon's Harvest Festival for the first time on Saturday, 10 till 4.

Expect a pop-up farmers' market, chefs from across Devon cooking over open fire, local musicians and kids' activities including face painting.

Tickets are £7.75 each on Eventbrite, under-3s go free, and parking on the farm costs nothing. About 10 minutes from the centre, and worth booking ahead as it's a first-year event.

Shaun the Sheep: Farmageddon, Exeter Picturehouse, Sat 5 Sep

If the forecast holds, Exeter Picturehouse's Kids' Club has A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon on Saturday at 10:45.

Every ticket is £3, grown-ups included, and there's crafting in the cafe beforehand, so it makes a cheap morning in the dry. It's a U, 87 minutes, and a good one for the younger end.

Booking's recommended. It's on Bartholomew Street West, right in the centre, so it fits neatly into a morning in town.

Colour at RAMM, last weekend, Sat 5 and Sun 6 Sep

RAMM's big summer exhibition, Colour, closes for good on Sunday, so this is the last chance to catch it.

It's 150-odd objects on how colour works, with Hokusai, Kandinsky, Bridget Riley and Warhol alongside a Trinidadian carnival costume and some prehistoric gold. It's built to be hands-on and lands best with 5 and up.

£6 for adults online (£8 on the door), under-19s free. Open 10 till 5 both days on Queen Street, and it's the one pick this weekend that works on Sunday too.

One free thing

Little Miss Marple at Torquay Museum, Sat 5 Sep

A bit further afield, but a genuine one-off: Torquay Museum is hosting a free Little Miss Marple storytelling session on Saturday at 10, as a warm-up to the Agatha Christie Festival later in the month.

It's an interactive read-along of the new Mr Men take on Miss Marple, with live music, actions and a draw-along, and the sweet spot is roughly 4 to 9.

Free, but you do need to book through the Agatha Christie Festival site, and places may be limited. About 40 minutes from Exeter.
